FOOS GO ACOUSTIC IN SYDNEY

After selling out arena concerts across Australia last year, the Foo Fighters are returning down under for an extra special concert event.

In news that is sure to delight Foos fans, the band will perform acoustic up close and personal concerts in the intimacy of the iconic Sydney Opera House this October.

Last time the band toured here they rocked loud and hard to rave reviews. This time around Australia will get a taste of the softer side of the Foo Fighters as they showcase material from the acoustic second disc of their latest album offering In Your Honor.

Dave Grohl, Taylor Hawkins, Nate Mendel and Chris Shiflett will be joined by former Foo Pat Smear on guitar, Petra Haden on violin, Rami Jaffee on keys, and Drew Hester on percussion. Timmy Curran will support.

In response to ticket scalping concerns, procedures will be put in place to ensure the best seats end up in the hands of Foos fans, not in the wallets of scalpers.

Tickets for the first ten rows of the Opera House will be limited to two tickets per person and will ONLY be available to purchase IN PERSON at the Sydney Opera House box office from 7:00am on Thursday 7 September.

Individuals lining up for tickets in the first ten rows will be required to supply a name for each ticket purchased. At the time of purchase names will be recorded and a corresponding ticket receipt issued. Physical tickets will only be available for collection the night of the concert. Photo ID will be required to match the name previously advised for each ticket and individuals will be wrist banded before entering their seats.

All remaining tickets will be limited to four tickets per person per show and will go on sale at 9:00am on Thursday 7 September via the Sydney Opera House (phone and box office only) and Ticketek (phone, outlets and internet).

The promoter and ticketing agencies have the right to cancel the tickets of any individual breaching these terms and conditions of sale.

Don’t miss out on seeing the Foos performing intimate and acoustic at Sydney Opera House this October.

Dates:
Tuesday 3 October – Sydney Opera House
Wednesday 4 October - Sydney Opera House

A VOOL OF A GOOD TIME

In 2005, Karnivool released their debut full length album Themata, independently and won the hearts of the nation with a plethora of national tours and festival appearances, extending into 2006.

After selling out venues all around the country on their “Roquefort” single tour in February of this year, Karnivool’s powerful live show has taken a backseat to song writing and signing a US record deal - until now.

After months of negotiations, Karnivool are pleased to announce they have signed a licensing deal with US label Bieler Brothers, based in Florida and home to Nonpoint, Sikth and Skindred.

With a US release most likely for early 2007, keep an eye out for news of Themata’s release in other territories North America, Mexico, Japan and the UK.

While Karnivool are busy popping the champagne cork and having a few beers to celebrate, they are ready to take the celebrations on the road as they head out on the ‘Synopsis’ Tour during September. Joining the ‘Vool on a select few dates will be New Zealand’s finest metal advocates, Blindspott. ‘End the Silence’, Blindspott’s new record will be released in Australia through EMI on September 2nd.

Tickets to the HiFi Bar show in Melbourne have SOLD OUT! Tickets are SELLING FAST, so get ‘em pre sale and don’t miss Karnivool on one of their last club tours this year, before the lads retire to the studio and record their sophomore album.

Do not miss Karnivool on their last Themata tour, as they wave the album goodbye with tour dates in most of the nation’s capital cities, and a bunch of regional dates thrown in between.

After that, the group will retire to the studio and finish writing and recording their sophomore album, the follow up to Themata, which has spent 65 weeks (and counting) in the AIR (Australian Independent Records) Chart, since it’s release.
