SLEEPIES HIT THE STORES

As the July 1 release date for The Sleepy Jackson’s new album Personality (One Was A Spider One Was A Bird) approaches, The Sleepies have now also confirmed national instore performances in July and an exclusive MySpace listening party next week.

And as an additional treat for fans, each instore will give those attending the chance to win an exclusive, numbered and framed print of the Personality album artwork.

But if you can’t wait until then to get up close and personal with The Sleepy Jackson, you can visit MySpace at www.myspace.com/thesleepyjackson for an Exclusive Listening Session of the entire album.

As a bonus, the Listening Session also includes the rarely seen Sleepy Jackson video cover version of “(Just Like) Starting Over” written by John Lennon. This video will then be available from July 1 on the Limited Edition version of the Personality album that includes the Personality Plus DVD. Also on the DVD is the documentary ‘The Making of Personality’, the “God Lead Your Soul” video and a photo gallery.

The first single “God Lead Your Soul” is instores now having debuted at #25 on the national ARIA Chart (with a #2 debut in their Perth hometown).

Personality was recorded at Big Jesus Burger Studios in Sydney and was produced by Scott Horscroft and Luke Steele. Guests on the album include The Presets, Jim Moginie (Midnight Oil) and Davey Lane (You Am I) amongst others.

In addition to signing copies of the new album at the instores, Luke and Malcolm from the band will be performing. You can catch them as they travel around the country on the following dates.

Dates:
Saturday 1st July - 78 Records, Perth at 2pm
Sunday 2nd July - Jive, Adelaide at 4pm (deets at Big Star)
Tuesday 4th July - JB Hi Fi, Melbourne (Bourke St) at 4pm
Thursday 6th July - Red Eye Records, Sydney at 5pm
Friday 7th July - Rockinghorse, Brisbane at 6pm

GOONS CRASH PENNYWISE

The Goons of Doom are four childhood friends and one sexy Czech blonde girl who, after years of sitting around drinking, smoking, painting, surfing and having barbies, decided to form a band. Featuring Killerwhale and Vaughan Dead on guitars, Cutthroat Cowboy on drums, the delicious Swiss Bang Bang Bunny Fang on bass and pro freesurfer Ozzie Wrong also on bass and vocals, the Sydney five piece quickly gained an infamous reputation for their explosive, feel good live sets and tongue in cheek lyricism.

In 2005 The Goons of Doom released their first five track EP Bikey Zomby which shocked the hell out of everyone by hitting the top 20 on the AIR Charts. Tours through the US, Japan, Europe, New Zealand and Australia have seen the band develop a cult following which is sure to grow upon the release of their first album - The Story of Dead Barbie And Ghost.

“Fingered”, the naughty first single from The Story of Dead Barbie & Ghost, kicks off as an electrifying chug-a-long tale about a teenage boy getting his kicks then transforms into a face melting finale of hells fury raining down upon the sinners of the world. It’s available as a free download on goonsofdoom.com because there needs to be more sharing and caring in the world.

Hot off the heels of the release of this first single, The Goons of Doom are ecstatic to announce they will be crashing the up coming Pennywise tour. They’ll be using the support slot to warm up for their very own headline east coast tour album tour in August.

Dates:
JULY
Wednesday 12 - Coolangatta Hotel, Coolangatta QLD
Thursday 13 - The Arena, Brisbane QLD
Friday 14 - Roundhouse, Sydney NSW
Monday 16 - The Palace, Melbourne VIC
