SHINE ON YOU MELBOURNE DIAMONDS

Hot on the heels of the recent happy news that Jet will return to Australia to play their first shows on home soil for 18 months in August, the band are happy to announce that their new album, Shine On will see the light of day in Australia on September 30.

The first single from the album, “Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is” arrives at radio on August 7, and combines the spirit of Curtis Mayfield and, well frankly, Jet, in a rock and soul shakedown that shows a band growing enormously as songwriters, musicians and men loving the business we call “Show”.

Having lost none of the energy and melodic muscle that made their first album such a well loved and monstrous release around the world, this is one of THE most anticipated rock album of the year, and thankyou Lord, it delivers.

Nic’s falsetto vocal in “Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is” introduces us to the new crop of Jet songs in the best possible way. The song - melodic, psychedelic, soul-tinged rock and roll - is indicative of the direction of the album, moving on and branching out from where Get Born left off.

Recorded once again with Get Born producer Dave Sardy behind the desk, Shine On has been lovingly handcrafted at the legendary sound maestro’s new Hillside Manor Studio in LA. Having started in March 2006 with 40 songs as album contenders, the band got down to the business of making an album where the only criteria was to forget about everything that came before, and all that had happened with Get Born – as great as that was – and make an album they would be happy to call their own.

Such an approach could potentially have been easier said than done. Get Born has so far sold 3.5 million copies worldwide, won the band 6 ARIAs, a US MTV Award and countless readers polls, saw them grace the covers of NME, Rolling Stone and the Geelong Advertiser to name but a few, and play to thousands around the world at every major music festival. It’s the kind of pressure that can get the best of any band.

With a new single and new album release just around the corner, and tickets for their Australian shows on sale August 3, it’s time to once again embrace the good men of Jet and welcome them back in to your life for 2006 and beyond.

Dates:
Tuesday 15 August - The Forum, Melbourne
Thursday 17 August – Enmore Theatre, Sydney

CURIOSITY SPARKS THE CRANE

2004 saw Dallas Crane rightly named the country’s Best Live Band by the Australian Live Music Awards. 2005 saw them regroup and work out what are the elements that make a classic song a classic song. 2006 will show Australia that Dallas Crane have come up with that answer. And that answer is Curiosity.

Having spent most of 2005 writing and recording their second album for Albert Productions, the eagerly anticipated first single, “Curiosity”, will hit airwaves on July 24.

A track about having fun with the deep, dark recesses of the human soul, “Curiosity” lets the fans know that Dallas Crane are back doing what they do best, combining melody, groove and harmony and showing that deep down, it’s still about playing good ol’ fashioned rock n roll.

To celebrate the forthcoming release of “Curiosity”, Dallas Crane will hit the east coast of Australia in August to play songs from the forthcoming album, Factory Girls, as well as all your favorites. These will be must see shows for any self respecting lover of rock n roll.

Dates:
Tuesday 15th August - Gaelic Club, Sydney
Thursday 17th August - Corner, Melbourne
Wednesday 23rd August - The Zoo, Brisbane
