DO THE BUDDHA BOUNCE

Sydney kings of hip hop Good Buddha are hitting the highway this September to take the sounds of their brand new EP Bouncin’ to the East coast. Next month will see the ‘Buddhz’ take in New South Wales, Queensland and Melbourne giving folks a right royal introduction to the latest and greatest of their unique brand of funky, reggae-influenced hip hop.

Good Buddha’s new EP Bouncin’ is burstin’ with tracks from their forthcoming third album which is due for release in early 2007, and features special guest MC Ozi Batla from The Herd as well as DJ Jack Prest.

Kickin’ it since 1998, Good Buddha have created some of the funkiest, most original and exciting hip-hop to come out of Australia. With two critically acclaimed albums, the formidable debut Skillathon (2001) and the follow up Futurhistrix (2004), plus three EPs under their belt, Good Buddha continue to highlight the best that Aussie hip hop has to offer. Renowned for burning up the dance floors with an invigorating mix of psychedelia, roots and the natural progression of hip hop, Good Buddha create a distinctive sound and have attracted a loyal following of fans who expect the unexpected.

Good Buddha have honed their lives skills with frenetic touring schedules and legendary appearances at festivals including Splendour in the Grass, the Woodford Folk Festival, Advent*jah and the Big Day Out, together with numerous headline club gigs, and have played alongside the likes of People Under the Stairs, Ugly Duckling, The Pharcyde, Grandmaster Flash, Black Eyed Peas and Lyrics Born to name a few.

Good Buddha’s live show this September is sure to set your shoes and socks on fire - the super slick rhythm section of Matt "M Dot" Johnston on Drums, Nui "Future Roots" Moon on percussion and Andy "A.N.D." Lane rockin’ the bass and vocals, provides the perfect base for the wild lyrical stylings and guitar of MC’s “Xela” (Alex Young).

So don’t miss Good Buddha’s jumpin’ live jams that will have you bouncin’ off the wall and dancin’ down the hall as they let the funk fly with their finest grooves and melodies this September.

TEA PARTY MAINMAN RETURNS

Yes, it’s true! After his highly successful recent Australian Tour, Jeff Martin will return downunder to treat fans nationwide to an enthralling musical experience. And we’ve decided to let the great man himself do the talking…

My dear friends,

Thankfully, the time has come once again to tour the great land of Oz. During past "Tea Party" tours I have been witness to the growing appreciation of world music elements that were central to the magic created by Jeff Burrows, Stuart Chatwood and myself. In this time...unfortunately, we are unable to come together to reinvent those moments.

However, the clouds have parted and an artistic friendship; which has been simmering for ten years, has now been put on the front burner.

Ritesh Das, one of the foremost tabla players in the world, has been my co-conspirator in bringing world music to the rock and roll front line.

It is a dream come true to be able to announce that I will be touring in Australia in early September with Ritesh and his Toronto Tabla Ensemble.

What this means musically and artistically is a reinvention and re-evaluation of the songs I have written past and present, with a tangent toward the future. It will be a return to the influences that have seduced me since the beginning.

The Toronto Tabla Ensemble is an ever shifting aural experience which has, in its past, fused with great success; music from the west and the east.

I anticipate that the concerts we will perform will achieve no less in interpreting the music of The Tea Party and my new record Exile and the Kingdom.

I look forward to seeing you all at the shows.

Sincerely,
Jeff Martin

Popular local musician Rob Sawyer will be Jeff’s special guest on this tour.

Friday 1 September Metropolis, Fremantle
Sunday 3 September HQ, Adelaide
Monday 4 September Prince of Wales, Melbourne
