WOLF & CUB
SCORE TV SUPPORT
Given that the young
genre hopping four-piece out of Adelaide, Wolf & Cub,
take their name from the Japanese Lone Wolf
& Cub comic series, it seems somehow appropriate
that they’d end up on the TV at some stage.
Such as it is, they will
support TV on the Radio during their first Australian
tour kicking off in Melbourne next month.
Made up of Joel Carey, Joel Byrne, Tom Mayhew and
Adam Edwards, Wolf & Cub have captured a global
imagination with their own idiosyncratic style. Around
since the early naughties, the first year of Wolf & Cub’s
existence was spent outside our field of vision and
inside their own world sharpening their individual
ideas and honing them into one collective explosion
of musical expression resulting in the band cultivating
sounds that set them apart from whatever was happening
on the streets.
A formidable live act, the band delivers weighty
primal rock seamlessly balanced with intricate guitar
lines heavy on experimentation and crazy freak-out
extended solos. With dual drummers, the ebb and flow
of scattered patterns crashing into relentless waves
of bass creates a dance-inducing storm of melodic
psych-rock making your skinny jean-clad pins twitch
feverishly.
Currently Wold & Cub are putting the finishing
touches to their debut album, due for release locally
in August. The band will be playing new tracks off
the album at these TV satellite shows.
Dates:
Sunday July 23 – The Forum, Melbourne
Tuesday July 25th - Gaelic Theatre, Sydney
BELLES
TOLL FOR DEATH CAB
Sydney’s psychedelic
rock n roll 5 piece Belles Will Ring have been
requested by Washington’s Death Cab for Cutie

up & coming Australian tour.
Since their very

one of the best new bands in town.
Already, they’ve
played support with the likes of The Lovetones,
Sounds Like Sunset,
the Devastations and Silvertone, and also scampered
around the stages with the likes of international
cats the Dears.
Belles Will Ring
have almost completed their debut full length album – Mood Patterns –
which is due for release later this year on the Architecture
Label.
In the mean time, a demo of “The
Coldest Heart” is available for streaming on Belles
Will Ring’s myspace,
where more tunes and information on the
band is to hand.
