ALL ABOARD
FOR THE CONFESSIONAL
Dashboard Confessional’s
Chris Carrabba has long been a favourite of Australian
audiences. On his last Australian tour, crowds
were word perfect as they hung on his every note.
For Dashboard fans, it’s
been two long years between tours, but the wait
is finally over. Dashboard
Confessional will return to Australia this September
to perform shows with his band in Brisbane, Sydney,
Melbourne and Perth.
Since his last Australian sojourn, Carrabba has
been busy writing and recording a new album Dusk
and Summer. The release
hints at a new direction for Carrabba; who backed
by a full band still offers plenty of those sing-along
choruses fans have come to know and love.
Dashboard Confessional’s
shows have a history of selling out in Australia,
so fans hoping to see
Chris Carrabba should get in quickly, with tickets
now on sale.
Since initially announcing the tour dates, it’s
come to the attention of the promoter and the band
that the Brisbane show was the night
prior
to the
QCS
Test.
As a result, the decision was made to move the show
to the night after the Test. How cool is that?!?!
Dates:
Tuesday 12 September -
The Tivoli, Brisbane
Wednesday 6 September -
Hordern Pavilion, Sydney
Friday 8 September - Palais Theatre, Melbourne
Sunday 10 September - Concert Hall, Perth
SCIENCE IS
CERTAIN
New York three-piece
We Are Scientists are set to tour Australia in
August.
Having already caused a sensation among Britain’s
and Amercia’s tastemakers, We Are Scientists
drummer Michael Tapper, guitarist Keith Murray and
bassist Chris Cain are poised to
entertain fans with their butt-shaking geek rock.
With sounds similar to that of bands like the Killers,
Hot Hot Heat and the Bloc Party, their debut album ‘With
Love and Squalor’ thru EMI has been a staple
on everyone’s
ipod and favourite radio stations.
We Are Scientists formed after they graduated Uni.
The name We Are Scientists, says Chris, “came
from the lips of a man at the U-Haul company where
we rented a moving truck.
First he asked if we were all brothers because we
all look kind of similar.
We said no, and then he asked if we were all scientists.
We had to regretfully admit
that we weren’t, but minutes later we realized gold
had been struck, titular
gold.”
Their onstage humour, off-kilter appearance and
hook heavy indie rock sound have made them festival
favourites performing at Oxygen, T In The Park, Summersonic
and V2006
Dates:
Monday 28th August - The Hi Fi Bar, Melbourne
Tuesday 29th August - The Gaelic Club, Sydney
