FRAYED IN
SEPTEMBER
Smooth Denver-based
foursome The Fray will hit Australasian shores
for the first time this year to rock venues in
Auckland, Sydney and Melbourne.
The Fray’s hit song “Over My Head (Cable
Car)” has attracted widespread attention on
commercial radio networks and is one of those infectious
rock anthems that you just can’t help but sing
along to.
The Fray will showcase tunes from their debut album
How To Save a Life to audiences
in Australia and New Zealand this September.
Overseas, The Fray are big news. How To Save
a Life – which
has sold over 500,000 copies in America to date – shot
into the iTunes chart at #2 and landed a spot in
The Billboard Top 20. Their first single “Over
My Head (Cable Car)” hit top spot on the US
Alternative Single Charts and scored a Top Ten place
in Billboard’s Hot 100.
With extensive touring experience
and countless sold-out shows in the US, it’s just a matter
of time before Australia and New Zealand also fall
for The Fray. Make sure you catch them on this tour
or you’ll regret it!
Flowery songstress Kate Miller-Heidke
will support The Fray in Melbourne and Sydney.
Support for New
Zealand will be confirmed shortly.
Dates:
Monday 4 September - The Studio,
Auckland
Wednesday 6 September - The Prince of Wales, Melbourne
Friday
8 September - The Gaelic Theatre, Sydney
SOMETHING WITH NUMBERS MAKE
IT COUNT
Its been along time between releases (and drinks)
for Something With Numbers, but October 7 sees them
back with a new record titled Perfect
Distraction, following the September 9 release
of the first single “Apple Of The Eye”.
“Apple Of The Eye” gets you
moving, jolting and convulsing even if your sub-conscience
is telling you not too; it’s the kind of song
that takes the least amount of time to write and
an even quicker amount of time to realise what a
gem it is.
As well as the lead track “Apple
Of The Eye”, the single will also come with three
unreleased b-sides
which further display the band’s dynamic crafting
of intelligent rock songs. “Apple Of The Eye” is
also Something With Numbers’ first release
via Below Par/Virgin.
Something With Numbers are
the type of band that can only sit still whilst
writing and even then do
they still have trouble. So with that said they are
now getting back to what they know best, touring.
You can catch them on the “Ripe and Ready Tour” with
The Bleeders and Mere Theory.
Something With Numbers’ last
release was their explosive and critically applauded
debut album Etiquette in
2004. Since then Something With Numbers have toured
the USA with The Matches and MC Lars, then written
and recorded Perfect Distraction, with
producer Phil McKellar (Silverchair, Grinspoon, Kisschasy)
.
