MELBOURNE SHOW COMES ALIVE AT NIGHT

Live at Night is an exciting new series of gigs taking place at the revamped Showgrounds as part of the 2006 Royal Melbourne Show.

This showcase of the best of Melbourne music will take place in the newly created Town Square, where each night three acts will take to the stage – demonstrating once again why Melbourne is THE home of live music in this country.

Blue ribbon highlights of the Live at Night program include everybody’s favourite new age troubadour Pete Murray, the three chord power chaos of The Spazzys, the Australian AMP (Album of The Year) winners The Drones, the hardest working boys in rock Dallas Crane, folk-pop chanteuse Clare Bowditch, slamming jazz-hop sextet True Live, and vocalist extraordinaire Rebecca Barnard.

Plus a cast of thousands including Dan Kelly & The Alpha Males, The Meanies, Mick Thomas & The Sure Things, Gersey, Mach Pelican, Ninety Nine, Diafrix, Sarah Carroll, The Wagons, Marcel Borrack & His Little Champs, Clinkerfield, Faker, Incredible Dead Goons, Black Cab, and more!

The Royal Melbourne Showgrounds certainly have a rock pedigree, having played host to some of the biggest names in music for over a decade, and this will continue with this new era of rock n roll.

So get your Bertie Beetle showbag, leave Mum at the scones, stick your little brother in the Gravatron and head down to the Town Square, right next to the old grandstand for a rockin’ night out!
