CRACK OPEN
THE CASH MACHINE
Hotter than hot
UK band Hard-Fi - who are quite literally from
Staines, Ali G’s home - are heading our way. The
band will perform shows
in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Fremantle in
September/October this year.
Hard-Fi have fast become one of the most talked
about and exciting bands to emerge from the competitive
UK
music scene
of late. Their debut album Stars of CCTV has
turned heads worldwide with its smooth blend of disco,
punk, rock
and dub, and earned the band comparisons with th
likes of the Specials.
Latterly, the likes of original rude boy Neville
Staple have been appearing with the band live on
stage, performing the likes of “Ghost Town”.
The band’s debut album has sold over 600,000 copies
in the UKthus far, and was named Album of the Year
for 2005 by
NME,
Q Magazine, Word and Observer Music Monthly.
Nominated for the legendary
Mercury Music Prize last year, it helped the band
secure Brit Award nominations
for Best British Group and Best Rock Act.
Live, Hard-Fi matches it with the very best, delivering
killer live shows that bring together all the elements
of their sound as one.

UNLEASHING
THE CLUES
Full of white-hot
new material, Midnight Juggernauts have returned
with the release of their second EP Secrets
of the Universe.
To celebrate its release, Midnight Juggernauts will
be igniting dance floors across Sydney, Brisbane,
Adelaide and Melbourne during June and July.
A sonic blizzard traversing dirty-organ-rock, stadium-disco-metal
and sci-fi roller-skating jams, Secrets of the
Universe features five new tracks including
the radio single “Shadows”, plus a remix by The Presets,
and a film
clip for “45 and Rising”. Be sure to keep an eye
out for the uber-cool “Shadows” film clip currently
screening nationally.
With wide cross over
appeal between the dance and rock arenas, Midnight
Juggernauts
have remixed the
likes of The Presets, Damn Arms and Paul Kelly’s
Stardust 5, and also toured with Cut Copy, Wolfmother,
Death From Above 1979, Gerling, Electric 6 and Trans
Am. Their sounds can be heard on numerous compilations
including Modular’s Leave Them All Behind,
FBI’s Kill Your Idols, !K7’s Tsubi
DJ Kicks, and various 12”s
spinning across the UK.
With a host of other
side projects kicking along, including a soundtrack
to a new
feature film, Midnight
Juggernauts have been forging a remarkably unique
path through the music scene. One of the country’s
most exciting new acts,
Midnight Juggernauts are ready to burn your house
down.
