THE STONES
TO EMI
Tipped in these very
pages some months ago to be a duo in demand, it’s
all pretty exciting in the Stones’ camp.
Angus & Julia
Stone and band played to approximately 2000 people
at Splendour In The Grass to an incredible
response and have just been announced on the Homebake
bill on 2nd December.
They are extremely
happy to announce their newly inked deal with EMI
Australia
who will be releasing their EP “Chocolates & Cigarettes” in
August.
They have also just directed
their first video clip along with Nippard Productions
for the Triple J played
song “Paper Aeroplane” off the EP. You
will be able to view this beautiful short film on
their myspace, or download
the song for free at Triple
J.
Angus & Julia Stone’s
debut EP Chocolates & Cigarettes” is
due out in the UK & Europe in September via the
UK Label Independiente, home
to artists such as Travis and Gomez. Angus, Julia
and band member Mitchell Connelly (ex drummer of
The Beautiful Girls) are very excited to head to
the UK in August for 3 months to support this release
and record their 2nd EP.
The day before they fly out
they will be headlining John Stone’s (yes their Dad) Music Room at
Barrenjoey High School which is sure to be a great
night for those who can make it out to the Northern
Beaches on 6th August (6-8pm) – tickets on
sale at the door.
